Employment Training
Solid Roots Work Program
Solid Roots is a work program offered by Enlightened Farms to individuals in early recovery.
Addiction can take a lot from an individual. Our intention is to help folks reclaim their lives with meaningful employment in a nurturing environment. Located in Egg Harbor City, NJ Enlightened Farms rests on 400 acres. It is here that you will have the opportunity to gain insight into sustainable organic farming while being hands on with the daily operations that allow us to provide the freshest and most nutritious food for our community.
With the guidance of our supportive staff, our goal is to instill in each participant a sense of belonging and confidence by offering an environment to build jobs skills and provide stability. Here at the farm, you will be exposed to structure and routine. You will be tasked with various projects and counted on as an essential part of the team. Our aim here is to give newly recovering people responsibility and purpose. Farm work is demanding but the rewards are numerous. We believe that as you grow to become dependable and accountable, so does your self-esteem.
Recovery Education
Here at The Hansen Foundation, we understand that recovery goes far beyond abstaining from substances. True healing means rebuilding every aspect of a person’s life with intention, stability, and purpose. That is why we offer recovery education opportunities designed to equip individuals with the practical tools they need to thrive.
Through workshops and community events, we help participants get their affairs in order and develop the skills necessary to live productive, healthy lives. Our programming includes financial literacy workshops that teach budgeting and responsible planning, as well as nutrition education to promote physical wellness.
By addressing these essential life skills, we empower those in recovery to build confidence and independence for long term success.
Peer Support
Our Alumni Office plays a vital role in sustaining connection long after treatment ends. Led by a dedicated coordinator, we work diligently to ensure that every individual who has completed our program or lived in our residences feels like they are part of our community.
We host regular alumni meetings on our main campus to provide ongoing fellowship and encouragement. Throughout the year, we also organize memorable experiences, from attending professional baseball games and skydiving adventures to transformative trips to Costa Rica. These opportunities reflect our belief that life in recovery is not only fulfilling but filled with endless possibilities.
