Helping Residents Find Their Way

Our Director of Housing, Dave Curry, has turned his firsthand experience supporting people in recovery into a tool for sober living communities. Dave created Find Your Way, a sober living management app that brings resident communication, daily responsibilities, and house operations into one place. Already in use within our housing program, the platform helps organize rent payments, meeting attendance, chores, and check-ins. We’re proud to celebrate Dave’s initiative and dedication to strengthening recovery support! Find Your Way on over to our webpage and instagram to learn more!

Dodgeball, Determination & Recovery

Eight men and women from the Hansen Foundation represented Enlightened at Kings Crusade’s annual Recovery Wars dodgeball tournament, marking our eighth year participating. The team finished with two wins and two losses, bringing plenty of determination and team spirit to the court. As our colleague Chris Houser shared, “they fought hard and had an amazing time celebrating recovery and fellowship with others in the community!” Bringing together sober living houses, treatment centers, outreach groups, and fellow recovery supporters, the tournament offered a reminder of how much fun connection in recovery can be. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Building Connections, Expanding Possibilities

We’re joining Stockton University’s Lolla No Booza celebration this October 29 for an evening of alcohol-free fun and community connection. Our team is contributing two raffle baskets to this year’s Masquerade Ball: an AirPods basket and a shopping basket filled with gift cards to local stores.

Beyond the festivities, we hope to partner with Stockton to offer an off-campus recovery housing option for students in the near future. Additionally, Dave Curry and Foundation Coordinator Cheressa Cargill also have a meeting planned for November to learn more about Young Adult Recovery Housing (YARH), a program supporting adults ages 18–24 with opioid and/or stimulant use disorders through housing and recovery support services. These efforts reflect our commitment to helping young adults build stability, pursue their goals, and find a supportive community in recovery.
